Services and Fees

Counselling

I provide counselling for individuals and couples navigating a wide range of issues, and have experience working with the following areas;      

* Chronic stress/anxiety/panic           * Depression/mood Disorders              * Substance (mis)use, including alcohol and drugs

Consulting/Contracted Services/Workshops

I am available to provide consultation, contracted services and workshop presentations upon request. I have the ability to teach and facilitate workshops on the following topics: mental health (e.g., effects of chronic stress, anxiety, depression); trauma and trauma informed practise, harm reduction, substance use issues, communication skills, parenting after separation and grief and loss.  

Appointments and Fees

 

Individual counselling sessions are $130 (no GST) per hour. Couples sessions are $150 (no GST) per hour.  

Consulting/Contracted Services/Workshop Presentation rates vary and are discussed at the time of request. 

I operate on a fee for service basis and my counselling fees include our time in session and other necessary preparation time, including record keeping. I am pleased to offer a sliding scale in some situations. Please inquire.   

Payment is due at the time of each session, either by Interac e-transfer or credit card. I require 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment, otherwise you may be charged a fee of $65.00.     

Complimentary Consultation 

Please contact me to arrange a complimentary 20 minute phone consultation; clients report this is a great opportunity to share briefly about their main concerns and ask questions. There is no obligation to return.    ​​

First Nations Health Authority Approved Mental Health Provider 

If you meet the eligibility requirements, the First Nation's Health Authority provides several types of funding for mental health counselling - The Mental Health Support Program for Indian Residential School Survivors (and family members); The Short Term Crisis Intervention Mental Health Program and the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls program. If you think you may be eligible please contact me and I can support you to apply for funding. 

Health Plans and Extended Benefits 

The services provided by a registered social worker are reimbursed by many extended health plans, insurance companies and/or employee assistance programs. Please reach out with your provider to determine if they will cover your session fees. You may also be able to claim counselling fees on your tax return. ​I am happy to assist you in trying to determine your eligibility for benefits if needed.
